This is officially the first - and hopefully the first of many - posts for Marketing PM, so I thought it might make sense to explain a little about the blog’s purpose and intentions.

First, a little about myself. I have worked in the trucking and transportation for years, helping companies across the U.S. attack a common problem that faces them: driver shortage. Although I have been involved with recruiting departments, operations, and safety, my main goal has been to help them talk to drivers and generate interest in the company above all else.

And that is the fundamental purspose of this blog … to share tips, insights, tricks, and disasters that I’ve encountered throughout my work, with the specific hopes that they can help you replicate (or avoid) them with success at your company.

I move back and forth between marketing and operations, blurring the lines between what happens when you’re trying to REACH someone vs. what happens after they REACH YOU. But my focus is on the first part … getting talking to candidates, and getting them to respond. There are plenty of of people within the industry that are far better at the operational aspects of driver recruiting than I, some of whom I may ask to join me to answer questions. We’ll see how it goes.

If you’ve got questions, leave me a comment. I’ll try and get back to you quickly with the question answered on the blog so everyone can see.
